Kylie Minogue: Is This Look A Hit or A Miss?

We’re usually big fans of Kylie Minogue’s style, but we aren’t exactly sure her look from yesteday’s Ocean’s 13 premiere in Cannes is museum worthy. While Kylie definitely has the stomach to pull off a sheer midriff panel, the patent-leather belts running up and down make this Dolce & Gabbana frock look a bit dominatrix than fashionista. Throw in the clear platform wedges and we aren’t sure how Kylie can even walk! Tell us: What do you think of Kylie’s premiere outfit? Is it a hit or a miss?

Vote on other stars who got it right — and wrong — in this week’s Hit or Miss gallery.

Fresh from a short break, this stylish dance music diva is back on track. Not only has she just finished up a tour and started preparing for the release of her first studio album in four years (the release date is November 26th), but she’s just signed on to represent Tous, a world renowed Spanish jewelry company that specializes in finely crafted ready-to-wear pieces. To show how much she loves the line, she aptly donned their diamond and white gold earrings to the premiere of White Diamond — a documentary about her triumphant return to the stage for her Showgirl Homecoming tour. And while visiting one of their stores, Kylie showed off their 18kt gold Bird ring, $357, and 18kt gold Kaos necklace, $791. Want some Tous jewelry for yourself? Not to be outdone by Cavalli or Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier is the latest designer to lend his couture expertise to create custom-made costumes for a singer. The designer has created eight haute couture looks for Kylie Minogue’s “X” world tour that kicked off last night in Paris. Kylie opened the show in a purple chiffon gown from Gaultier’s 2006 collection that was completely couture modified to fit her. Some of her other dazzling outfits include a blue and white “K” logoed cheerleader- and football-inspired outfit complete with padded top, shorts and high heel sneaker shoes. She also showed off a long red satin dress, an equestrian-inspired look that included a black long tailed coat with fringe and over-the-knee leather boots, a sexy Geisha outfit with long Swarowski crystal mesh sleeves, a long turquoise gown with coral heart embroidery, a navy sequin sailor outfit, and finally a crystal embroided corset and black satin pants. With all these amazing costumes, we can’t decide which one is our favorite — maybe the Geisha? Tell us: What costume sounds best to you?

For her first U.S. tour, it looks like international superstar Kylie Minogue will be taking fashion cues from American music’s leading ladies. With couture costumes designed by Jean Paul Gaultier — the same designer responsible for Lady Gaga‘s outrageous VMA looks — Kylie will hit the stage sporting glittering bodysuits and long, sequined trenches identical to these sketches by the designer. And considering the designs’ notable lack of pants and sparkle overload, we can’t help but think Lady Gaga and Beyonce! Kylie Minogue is working wonders as the new face of Spanish jewelry and accessories label Tous, with sultry magician-themed ads in which the top hat-wearing singer appears to have sawed herself into bits! “We wanted the campaign to be very bold, very fresh and very atmospheric,” Tous co-president Madame Rosa Oriol says of the playful print series, which was shot earlier this month by renowned photographer Ellen Von Unwerth. “To carry off all this radiance and sophistication, we needed the best and for me, that is Kylie Minogue.” In the midst of the February 9 shoot, the 41 year-old Aussie Tweeted, “Hello peeps!! Am in the middle of photo-shoot for the next Tous campaign, photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth. It’s all about…*m*a*g*i*c!! I first worked with Ellen in the mid 90′s….!!! She has great energy and takes gorgeous pics.” We couldn’t agree more. Tell us: What do you think of Kylie’s new Tous ads?David Caplan

Kylie Minogue has literally been working some magic as the face of Tous, posing as the the wand-waving, retro pin-up star of the Spanish jewelry brand’s latest campaign, shot by famed fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth. In this new short video counterpart to the print ads, the Aussie pop star pays homage to ’50s Parisian cabaret, performing magic tricks for an audience dressed in a top-hat, vest, tap pants–and, of course, jewelry from Tous. The singer pulls a rabbit out of a hat and waves her her magic wand to make a handkerchief disappear, before making a shiny pink bauble from Tous’ spring collection appear out of thin air! A new trend is in bloom! This season, summer’s pervasive prints have been reincarnated into decadent and glamorous oversized florals. On Monday, Australian pop star Kylie Minogue was spotted out and about in London, sporting a kimono-inspired mohair Dolce & Gabbana black overcoat, dotted with pink and white buds. The style must be contagious because that same night, Kristen Bell stepped out for the U.K. premiere of Burlesque in an equally wild Stella McCartney mini dress, which she tempered with merlot satin pumps. The very next evening, reality starlet Kristin Cavallari turned up at the L.A. premiere of Country Strong rocking a coppery floral bodice gown with newly platinum tresses. And while we love the look on our breezy summer frocks, we’re still on the fence about this blooming winter trend. Tell us: What do you think of oversized florals for winter? Justine Harman

We have already seen literal interpretations of menswear for the ladies, but fashion’s boldest trendsetters re-imagined the trend in a variety of ways — all in the last day! The latest iterations of the look range from the risqué to the buttoned-up, but always include stylishly sexy details. Tuesday night, Cate Blanchett opted for a black-and-white look, selecting crisp white trousers and shiny lapels for the IWC “A Night in Portofino” gala in Geneva, Switzerland. In L.A., Camilla Belle was spotted pairing high-waisted tuxedo trousers with a gauzy nude bandeau, revealing her toned abdomen at the premiere of From Prada to Nada. And back across the pond, Kylie Minogue ramped up a classic suit with a sheer blouse, breezy bow and crimped updo. We applaud Hollywood’s affirmation that behind every menswear-inspired look is a strong woman, but want your opinion. Tell us: Are you riding the coattails of the latest menswear trend? High notes meet high fashion! Dolce & Gabbana has created the stage wardrobe for Brit pop superstar Kylie Minogue on her “Les Folies Tour,” which kicked off Feb. 19 in Denmark before starting on a world tour. While her last set of tour costumes was designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, this is actually the third time the haute Italian design duo has teamed up with Minogue to create tour costumes; for this show, they used a corset as the base to reinterpret some of their most classic looks for the star. “We’ve revisited iconic Dolce & Gabbana pieces, adapting them to the themes of the tour,” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said in a statement. “Working with Kylie has always been very spontaneous and easy. We are given free reign to create because she trusts that we know exactly what she likes. Kylie has always been our piccola principessa!” A sneak peek at one costume (left) appears to be inspired by the title of her last album, Aphrodite. Tell us: Are you excited to see more of the collaboration between Dolce & Gabbana and Kylie Minogue?

Las Vegas might be known for playing up the glitz and glam, but for Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards, it was all about the little black dress. Whether it was super sexy like Selena Gomez‘s cut-out Dolce & Gabbana gown or futuristic like Fergie‘s strap-heavy Hervé Léger by Max Azria Atelier mini, music’s heaviest hitters went for the classic color. Nicole Kidman added a sweet touch with her long lace dress and side braid, while Beyoncé embodied simple elegance in a Lanvin sheath with over 75 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds! Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott skipped the country-favorite gowns for a sleek Mandalay dress with a semi-precious stone neckline. And let’s not forget Kylie Minogue’s heavily embellished Alexander McQueen frock with fringed booties or Britney Spears‘s clean-lined, spaghetti strap Hervé Léger mini. Whew, what a night for the LBD! Take our poll below and tell us who was your favorite!

Eyebrow Groomer to the Stars Spills on Common Tweezing Mistakes

Your mom has probably said to you at least 100 times, ‘Don’t over-pluck your brows.’ But Sharon-Lee, an Australian eyebrow shaper who’s groomed the brows of Kylie Minogue, Rob Lowe and the Great Gatsby cast, agrees.

“Over-tweezing,” she says when asked for the most common brow-shaping mistake women make. “Have an expert shaping, if just once. You’ll never go back to bad brows once you’ve seen the difference a professional shaping can make.”

Once you love your brow line, Sharon-Lee recommends tweezing every few days to remove regrowth. “When any real length comes in you’ll struggle to determine new growth from old,” she explains.

Sharon-Lee, who uses wax and tweezers to achieve the perfect brow for her own clients, cautions against threading. “It’s painful and often requires repeating over the same area,” she says. “Most importantly, it almost always doesn’t remove all hair from the root, so regrowth is much sooner.”

But regardless of which method you choose, Sharon-Lee insists you find the best brow shaper in your area. “Do your research,” she urges. “And take pictures along with you so you have a visual guide of the outcome you want.” Tell us: How do you take care of your brows?

Red Carpet Trend Report: The Scoop on Big (and Baby) Bows, Underwear as Outerwear and the Pumps to Put Away

Trend report: bows, bras and pencil skirtsSplash News Online; Getty; WireImage

In our weekly roundup of the looks that are gaining fashion ground (and the ones losing their style street cred), we saw some major bow detailing, a top that can’t even be called cropped (it’s too tiny) and footwear that has passed it’s expiration date (for now).

Up: Bows. The last time we wore a bow was in our first grade yearbook photo, but after seeing some of the outfits this week, we’re considering bringing the look back to our wardrobes. Emma Watson (in Giambattista Valli) and Kylie Minogue (in William Wilde) selected the most dramatic forms of the trend, with theatrical ties adorning their dresses. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley went for a more subtle approach via a small embellishment at the waist on her sequin Saint Lauren mini. The look definitely seems to be picking up style speed, and we’re curious how much bow detailing will pop up at the Oscars –- Nicole Kidman’s red Balenciaga is still alive in our best gowns of all time bracket. Just sayin’.

Up: Bra Tops and Pencil Skirts. NSFW pencil skirts have been on the up, but recently stars are pairing them with not sweatshirts, not crop tops, but legit bras! Lily Aldridge was the leader of the midriff-baring brigade this week and loved the trend so much that she wore it twice (once in a brilliant white satin and again in hot-orange Calvin Klein Collection). Chrissy Teigen must have FaceTimed her fellow Sports Illustrated cover model to coordinate outfits, because she also showed up at the same party wearing the style with a white top and hot-pink side–slit bottom (both Milly). Yes, these two are paid to be in a bikini so they always look hot, but they also know how to expose the most flattering part of the waist (above the belly button and a few inches below the breast bone), which means less time at the gym and more leftover Valentine’s Day chocolates.

Down: Metallic Heels. We have loved this trend all season; however, it seems that shiny shoes are being eclipsed by more neutral colors on the carpet. While Chrissy Teigen and Lupita Nyong’o are still attached to their flashy footwear, they stood out this week amid the majority of stars who were sticking to softer hues. We’re not saying that you should pack your pair away in storage, but maybe move them to the back of the closet just for now.

Kim Kardashian Says Her Blonde Hair Won't Last Long: Here's What She Should Try Next

$

Kim Kardashian West‘s platinum hair is definitely high maintenance (even for a star who travels the world with her own glam squad). And West told PEOPLE exclusively that the blonde probably isn’t sticking around too long.

“It was a really last minute decision, and I loved taking this risk,” she said, adding, “It’s a fun look, but I’m not sure how long it’ll last — but a fun break for now.”

Her blonde ambition was inspired by a photo of Madonna (“I’ve been waiting for a long time to try the look”), plus, Kanye prefers her lighter hair. But since we can feel another hair change coming (it’s like that sixth Kardashian sense), we’re suggesting a few other looks Kim might want to try next.

1. The Kris Jenner

They look alike. They like to share clothes. So sharing hairstyles is the logical next step. Or maybe Kim will wait to go pixie until she’s done having babies?

2. The Kylie Jenner

“I think it would be really fun to try that short turquoise hair that Kylie has,” Kim told PEOPLE when she served as our guest beauty editor. She can easily dip-dye her platinum ends a bright blue shade, or she could go back to brunette and then pull the Kylie. Or maybe just try out some of her sister’s Bellami clip-ins. (The youngest Jenner sister is a huge source of beauty inspiration, according to Kim.)

Okay, maybe we just want to see Kim in a hat like this — or even a small fascinator. But who doesn’t love Princess Kate‘s perfect hair?

Miley Cyrus Shares Another Nipple Shot (and More Celebrity Boob News)

You might have been delighted by Miley Cyrus’s photo series of herself wearing multicolored wigs, which she posted to Instagram last night. And if you were particularly observant, you might have been equally delighted (or perhaps equally irritated, outraged or exhausted) by the accidental (“accidental”?) nipple shot she shared in the process.

Miley Cyrus nipple picCourtesy Miley Cyrus

“What’s yo flava?” she captioned the above shot, which portrays her in an orange bobbed wig, some mysterious spots (perhaps acne cream) on her face and, oh yeah, her entire left boob hanging out. Given her commitment to the #freethenipple movement, we somehow doubt this was accidental — and even if it were, Cyrus is just glad you’re looking.

“When you have all eyes on you, what are you saying? And that’s what I had to ask myself a lot,” she told the AP recently. “It’s like, I know you’re going to look at me more if my (breasts) are out, so look at me. And then I’m going to tell you about my foundation for an hour and totally hustle you.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also went bare — in a very French way — for Lui magazine. In addition to the golden serpent shot above, she tried out a see-through raincoat and topless maillot. Just another day on the job for a supermodel.

And finally, Kylie Jenner gave us another look at that unusual claw-like crop top she’s been posing in (and which we truly hope we don’t see in her Topshop collection). She may be calling it a “secret project” but it appears “secret” does not necessarily apply to her chest region.
